About This Set: Abigail Knights Pearce: born 31 January Gloucester, Essex, Massachusetts; married Calvin Appleton (1828-1898) 17 October 1750 at Gloucester, Essex, Massachusetts; died 10 September in Haverhill, Essex, Massachusetts.
Malvina C. Smith: born Alexander, Genesse, New York, USA; married Henry T. Phillips (1823-1863) on 13 January 1850 at Russell, Alabama: died October at Mound City, Pulaski, Illinois.
Edward Pettis Redford: born 10 August Barren, Kentucky, USA; married Sarah Martha Cochrane 14 January 1855 Cottage Grove, Lane, Oregon, USA; died 17 April Cottage Grove, Lane, Oregon, USA.

The 1829 Mint Set marked the return of the Half Dime after a nearly quarter century hiatus. Production of quarters was suspended this year, and would not return until 1831 when the new smaller-diameter planchet would be introduced. Fortunately for the collector, none of the 1829 Copper or Silver issues is particularly scarce so this is a set that can be completed without much difficulty.
