About This Set: I began assembling a Franklin set from circulation in 1965, and knew that if I were to upgrade to uncirculated, choice coins would be difficult to find. Even in the 1950's and 1960's, I seldom found a new Franklin in pocket change that didn't have a lot of bagmarks. By the early '70's, I had a complete uncirculated set, but was still unhappy with the quality of some of the coins. Beginning in the late 1980's, I began purchasing PCGS slabbed Franklins when I saw one that appealed to me. My timing was poor, because Franklins were priced higher then than today, and prices declined over a period of many years. There was never a strong desire to complete a slabbed set when I was "upside down" with many coins. The slabbed set is now complete, even though many do not exhibit full bell lines. A few upgrades and better photos will come next.
