Lord Marcovan

About This Set: Robertson W. Shinnick is better known in collecting circles as "Lord Marcovan," after a fictional character in short stories he used to write. He began this Registry set shortly after completing a 1798-2000 (nongold) U.S. type set. A few of these coins are remnants of that old set, the rest of which was sold to finance new additions here. Mr. Shinnick's goal is a mixed Mint State and Proof set with all coins grading 62 or higher. He likes the "flash" of proof coins, but has to settle for business strikes on many of the early issues and gold coins needed.
