Liberties and Indians

About This Set: Not Cowboys! This 12-piece PCGS Gold Type Set category serves as a platform for a slightly more streamlined effort mentioned above. I am not a fan of the type-I Indian Princess(1856)$1 design and the $3(type-II Indian Princess) is simply too expensive for a modest budget. But the remaining 10 pieces create a smartly thematic presentation. Along with the registry will come an eventual display of these coins in two rows of five. The top row, the Longacre Liberty(1907) $1 and $20 flanking the 3 Gobrecht Liberty(1908) denominations. Immediately below in increasing, matching denominations we will see the Longacre type II Indian Princess(1889) dollar, a triumph of design which the mint finally got right, the two Pratt Indians(1929), the lovely St. Gaudens $10 Indian(1933), and finally his $20 Liberty(1933). Some may argue that St. Gaudens should've designed an Indian for the Double Eagle and then in this way I would have two distinct rows. This eventual 10-piece set will have 3 distinct designs each, of Liberty and Indian; coincidentally, the last 6(3-Liberty, 3-Indian) designs of our U.S. Gold coinage(see last date design minted in parentheses).
