About This Set: My focus is on completeness, quality by type, excellent photography, interesting descriptions and the highest possible set ranking, but with a preference for incorporating some unusual or rare coins, when it is possible for me to do so. I've bought coins from dealers (for example, Ira Stein, Don Willis, Gary Adkins, Chris Victor-McCawley and Brian Wagner) and auction houses (such as Heritage, Bowers and Merena, Ira and Larry Goldberg, David Lawrence and Stack's). I also confess to having bought some coins, usually inexpensive, on eBay. All of my coins are PCGS-guaranteed to be genuine; my longer descriptions are largely, but never entirely, plagiarized. Except for the 1856 Flying Eagle small cent (for the fun of it) and the 1836 and 1839 Gobrecht Dollars (required), I restrict myself to relatively high-grade circulated and mint-state business strikes, excluding the proof coins that weren't really meant to be used.
