2014 Niue $5 Catherine I PR69DCAM { PCGS-5 }. From the Russian Emperors series this oval gem in a mintage of 999 remembers the first female ruler of Imperial Russia. Her reign came early in the 18th century following the death of her husband Peter the Great. She heralded the start of a century almost entirely dominated by women. This high-relief 2-ounce silver proof is colorized featuring two red and one clear Swarovski Crystals and gilded accents. The coin is numbered and has 359 on the bottom edge. This is one of the more difficult coins in this set to fill with an actual coin; although several exonumia examples are available depicting “fantasy” restrikes.
