The 2012-P Benjamin Harrison Presidential Dollars were first released on August 16, 2012. The Mint did not release the coins into circulation, it only sold the coins to the public as the Federal Reserve had too many $1 coins in their inventory.
The Mint sold the coins in four different options. They were sold in $25 rolls, in $100 bags, in $250 or $500 boxes. Buyers had the option of receiving P or D mint mark rolls, bags or boxes. Most coins came in great qualityand only examples in MS66 are scarce but with enough searching they are available. In MS67, they are scarcer and most examples have probably been graded. In MS68 they are almost unheard of with no more than a dozen or so examples in this condition or higher.
