The Uncirculated Silver Eagles with a W mint mark were first introduced in 2006 as a separate product from the regular Uncirculated (no mint mark) coin and the Proof coin. However, in 2009 the Mint canceled the production of Uncirculated coins with a W mint mark, as the Mint could not keep up with the demand for bullion related coins. The W mint mark coins were also canceled in 2010 and were reintroduced in 2011.
