The James Garfield Presidential Dollar was officially released in circulation on November 17, 2011. It is the 20th design issued in the Presidential Dollar Coin Program.

Position A:The coins edge lettering reads upside-down when the President's portrait faces up.

Coin Covers -

On December 29, 2011 the Mint offered Coin Covers for the Garfield Presidential Dollars. The Coin Covers had 2 Uncirculated Garfield Presidential Dollar coins in it. The D example was struck on the first day of production which was on September 01, 2011. The second example with a P mint mark was struck on the first day of production for the Philadelphia Dollars.

The issue price for the Garfield Presidential Dollar Coin Covers was set at $19.95 if purchased directly from the U.S. Mint.
