The 2005-P Uncirculated Marine Commemorative Silver Dollar was struck to commemorate the 230th anniversary of the Marine Corps and to honor the Marines who have served the nation.

Obverse: The obverse of the coin features several Marines raising an American Flag in Iwo Jima in World War II. The obverse has the inscriptions, Liberty, In God We Trust, Marines 1775, 2005."

Reverse: The reverse of the coin features the Marine Corps emblem which shows the globe with an eagle on top of it holding a ribbon and underneath the globe is a large anchor with a rope. The reverse has the inscriptions, "United States of America, E Pluribus Unum, Semper Fidelis and One Dollar."
