The 2005-D along with the 2005-P Sacagawea Dollars had the lowest mintage in the circulation strike Sacagawea Dollar series when they were first issued. However, years later the Mint began to produce them in smaller numbers so they had the lowest mintages briefly.
Sale Date: The coins were introduced on January 24, 2005.
Rolls: Customers were given the option of ordering the 2005-P Sacagawea Dollars in rolls which contained 25 coins each. Each roll of 25 coins was priced at $35.50 or $15.50 over the face value of the roll.
Bags: The Mint also offered bags containing 250 coins each. The 250 coin bag had a price of $347 each or $97 over the bags face value. In previous years, customers could have also ordered bags containing 2,000 coins each but in 2005 these larger bags had been discontinued.
