2005-D 50C Satin Finish SP68 Certification #20988082, PCGS #96789

This is the first year that the Mint struck Satin Finish coins in Mint Sets. The Satin Finish Mint Sets were struck from 2005 - 2010. In the year 2005 the Satin Finish Mint Set contained 22 coins from the 1c coin to the $1 coins from the Philadelphia and Denver Mints.
All 2005 Satin Finish coins were very well struck and were in much better condition than circulation strike coins. The 2005-D Satin Finish Kennedy Half Dollar is common in all grades up to about SP68. Anything grading higher than SP68 is considered very scarce.
