In 2003 the U.S. Mint struck six different coins to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Orville and Wilbur Wright's first manned powered flight. They flew a powered airplane for the first time in December 17, 2003.

Obverse: The obverse depicts the two Wright Brothers, Orville and Wilbur. The coin has the inscriptions, Liberty, In God We Trust, Orville & Wilbur Wright, First Flight Centennial" and the years "1909 and 2003."

Reverse: The reverse of the coins shows the 1903 Flyer airplane. Above it is an eagle flying over the plane. It has the inscriptions, United States of America, E Pluribus Unum, Ten Dollars and the W mintmark.
