The Maryland state quarter design is the 6th design issued in the 50 State Quarters program. It is also the second design issued in the year 2000. The Maryland circulation strike quarters were officially released on March 13, 2000.
The 50 States Quarter Program began in 1999 and ended in 2008. Every year since 1999, the U.S. Mint released five different state quarter designs to honor every state in America.
