In 1995 and 1996 the U.S. Mint struck 16 different coins to commemorate the Olympic Games held in Atlanta, Georgia. One of the Olympic commemorative coins offered in 1995 was the 1995-D Track and Field Silver Dollar.

Obverse: The obverse of the coin shows two male sprinters running towards the finish line in the Olympic Games. It shows track 2, 3, 4 and 5 with the two sprinters running on tracks 4 and 5. The obverse has the inscriptions, Liberty, XXVI Olympiad, In God We Trust, 1995 and the Olympic logo which indicates USA.

Reverse: The reverse of the coin features two clasped hands and above it is the US Olympic Games logo which indicates 100 and the word Atlanta next to it. The reverse also has the inscriptions, United States of America, E Pluribus Unum, One Dollar and a D mint mark indicating it was struck at the Denver Mint.
