The 1988-D Olympic Commemorative Dollar was issued as a celebration of the United States participating in the Olympic Games.

Obverse: Obverse features two hands both holding a torch and combined making one flame. One of the hands is holding the Statue of Liberty torch, while the other holds the Olympic torch. It also has two wreaths on the obverse design,  one on the left side of the coin and the other on the right side of the coin. The obverse has the inscriptions, "Olympiad, In God We Trust,

Reverse: The design features two olive branches, one on the left side and the other on the right side of the reverse design. Additionally, there is a large Olympic emblem in the center of the coins design. The reverse has the inscriptions, United States of America, 1 Dollar USA, and E Pluribus Unum.
