1987 $5 Gold Eagle MS70 Certification #44568328, PCGS #9810

This is the second year of issue for the $5 Gold Eagles. The Mint struck them in $5, $10, $25, and $50 denominations for the mint state versions. In proof format it only struck them in a $25 and $50 format for 1987.

The $5 Mint State 1987 Gold Eagles were well struck examples in MS68 and MS69 are fairly easy to find. However, perfect MS70 examples are really hard to come by and command a very significant premium.
