The 1972-S Proof Jefferson Nickel is a common date in the Proof Jefferson Nickel series. It has a mintage of approximately 3,260,000. Most proof Jefferson Nickels have mintages in the 3 million range. Only proof Jefferson Nickels from the early 1940's to 1950's appear to be scarce, as they have much lower mintages.
The 1972-S Proof Jefferson Nickel is very common in most grades. Only in PR69 Deep Cameo or higher is it scarce.
