The 1972-D Washington Quarter has a high mintage of over 300 million examples being struck. In circulated grades up to about MS66 it can easily be obtained. In MS67 it is overall scarce. Anything grading higher than MS67 is very difficult to find, as the Mint did not strike many examples in this condition.
