I have one better in NGC, but I wanted to start this set and a BN is all I had thaty was worth grading. I am hoping to improve this with time. Mintage is the lowest for any 1d NZ issue. Only 200,000. Also struck for 1965 was a PL set. These were limited to 25,000. I have one at PCGS now. Last, but not least, there were proofs also. I have one graded by NGC as PF66. There were only 10 sets. This was the last large penny NZ had. !966 had no pruduction, and 1967 the country went to the decimal coins and the penny was much smaller. The other interesting fact is that New Zealand no longer uses pennies. Their nickel has also been done away with. They learned about production costs, and use Swedish rounding. The US is just opposite. We make four different pennies, and spare no expense.
