The 1961 Proof Roosevelt Dime had a relatively high mintage, especially compared to all other Proof Roosevelt Dimes prior to 1961. As an example, the highest mintage Proof Roosevelt Dimes from 1950-1960, was the 1960 with a mintage of approximately 1,691,600 million. However, the 1961mintage was almost double the amount as the Mint struck about 3,028,200 examples for 1961.
Therefore, the 1961 Proof Roosevelt Dime is one of the higher mintage coins for the series and more than enough coins were struck to meet collectors demand. Most examples are also easily affordable. Only examples in PR69 Deep Cameo or higher have significant premiums.
