There about 9 different dates in the circulation strike Jefferson Nickel series with mintages under 10 million. The1956-P Jefferson Nickel has a mintage of over 36 million, making it one of the more common dates in the series.
This issue is very common in circulated condition. In MS60 to about MS64 condition it is fairly common as well. In MS65 condition, examples are a little more difficult to come by but there are still many raw examples that can be purchased inexpensively. In MS66 condition it becomes scarce, and in MS66 with Full Steps it is even scarcer with less than a few hundred examples known. In MS67 Full Steps it is almost unheard of, with the exception of 1 lone example being graded PCGS MS67FS and none known in better condition.
