Bought this coin at the South Bay Coin Show in San Jose

While not as rare or as valuable as the earlier San Francisco Mint issues, the 1940-S is considered a desirable issue and it is certainly rarer than the Philadelphia Mint issues of the era. White frosty Gems are availble.
