The 1935-S is the rarest 1935 to 1947 Walking Liberty half dollar in mint state (and Gem) condition. While not an ultra rarity, finding a Gem is much more difficult for this issue than others of this era. When available though, this issue comes very nice, with frosty white luster Gems being typical, and unlike many of the S-Mint that follow, this issue usually doesn't have an issue with strike. I do remember seeing original rolls (though not often) of this date back in the 1970s.
