The 1919-S Walking Liberty half dollar is a rare coin in all circulated grades. In high grades it is very rare. In mint state condition, the 1919-S is the fifth rarest coin in the series. However, there are a number of Gem condition (MS65) examples in existence and the 1919-S is probably the 10th to 12th rarest coin in the series in gem condition. There are a dozen or so Supeb Gem MS66 examples known.
