Ron Guth
1912 saw a bump in the production of Proof Half Dollars to a total of 700 piece, the largest Proof mintage since 1905 and for the remainder of the series. As a result, Proof 1912 Half Dollars are readily available in the market and there are plenty of quality coins available (dozens are known in PR65 to PR66). As usual for this later period in the series, Cameo Proofs are very rare and Deep Cameo Proofs are essentially non-existent.
