1910 $20 PR66 Certification #53980766, PCGS #9207

Expert Comments

David Akers (1975/88)

Proofs of 1910 are the Roman or satin finish type. The 167 mintage figure is the highest of any Double Eagle, Liberty Head or Saint-Gaudens, but it is my opinion that either this number is incorrect or many 1910 proofs were never sold and were later melted. At any rate, the 1910 is very rare in proof and I estimate that 20-25 are known.
