David Akers (1975/88)
By a considerable margin, the 1904-S is the most common Liberty Head Double Eagle from the San Francisco Mint. It is also one of the eight or ten most common dates in the entire Liberty Head series. The 1904-S is readily available in all grades up to and including choice uncirculated. Only in gem condition can the 1904-S be considered scarce and even at that level there are a substantial number of pieces known.PCGS #
