1903 5C VG8 Certification #45733892, PCGS #3864
Expert Comments
Ron Guth
The 1903 Liberty Head Nickel is another high-mintage date that is common across virtually every grade. Only in MS67 does this date become rare; in fact, none have been graded finer by PCGS.
As with most other dates in this series, one encounters a variety of strikes including some exceptionally well-struck piece and others with weak stars, corn ears, and denticles. Luster ranges from frosty to a hard, chrome-like brilliance.
