1902 $20 MS62 Certification #39708475, PCGS #9041

Expert Comments

David Akers (1975/88)

The 1902 is a scarce date, essentially equal in terms of both population rarity and condition rarity to the 1901-S, 1905-S and 1906. It is not as rare as either the 1898 or the 1905 despite its considerably lower mintage. Most known 1902 twenties are AU, Unc., or Proof. Almost all the uncirculated specimens are only Unc-60 and choice and gem quality uncs, though known, are certainly rare.
