1901 $20 MS66 Certification #18447088, PCGS #9039
Owner's Comments
CAC. Purchased as MS65/CAC, upgraded to MS66/CAC, this elegant Gem survivor from this turn-of-the-century issue is sharply struck with vibrantly lustrous wheat-gold and mint-green surfaces and marvelous visual appeal. The portrait is especially clean, with only a handful of minuscule luster grazes away from the focal points.

Despite its low mintage, which would tend to imply a certain degree of rarity, the 1901 is really a very common date. It is comparable in overall rarity to the 1895, 1899-S and 1899. Most known 1901's are uncirculated but, of course, the majority of them are no better than Unc-60. Nevertheless, many choice and gem specimens exist.
