Owner's Comments
BARBER HALF DOLLAR 1893 PCGS PR63 : IMPERIAL ; HERITAGE AUCTIONS where it was graded 63/63. It was in an old PCGS slab graded PR63, I later had the coin regraded by PCGS 3/2017 but without change in grade. I had thought it might be a higher grade or a cameo proof. Old PCGS# was 04008566. Now in PCGS Secure holder.

1899 is a perfect choice for an affordable, available, quality example of a Proof Barber Half Dollar. It can be found in a wide range of grades from PR60 to PR69 (the only date in the series that can make that claim as far as PCGS is concerned). These come well struck in a variety of formats: Brilliant; Cameo; and Deep Cameo. All the examples we've seen are fully struck and very well-made.
