1896-S $20 MS62 Certification #07616714, PCGS #9030
Expert Comments
David Akers (1975/88)
The 1896-S is not exactly a rare date but it also does not fall in the "common date" category. It is similar in both population rarity and condition rarity to the 1889-S, 1894-S, 1903-S and 1906-S. In any grade up to and including choice uncirculated, the 1896-S is no more than moderately scarce. True gems, however, are very scarce.PCGS #
