1895 $20 MS63 Certification #84348242, PCGS #9027
Expert Comments
David Akers (1975/88)
The 1895 is one of the eight or ten commonest dates of the entire Liberty Head Double Eagle series. It is comparable to the 1898-S, 1899 and 1901 in overall rarity and only the 1900, 1903, 1904, 1904-S and 1907 can be considered more common. The 1895 is easily obtained in any grade short of gem condition, but true gems are rather scarce.
