Owner's Comments

Phenomenal everything! The mirrors are deep, very clear, clean overall, and of course powerfully reflective. A lovely patina of soft iridescent gold/lime/blue frames the rims. Miss Liberty and the details boldly stand out with thick white frost and razor sharp . Only 792 pieces were minted. Some times Mother Nature just wants to remind you how crazy wild she can be. This coin she made sure to do just that! Outstanding deep mirrors beam all over. This coin is just a few microscopic lines from bring a PR67 Cameo. Overall, the mirrors are clean, are crystal clear, and are of course have a bold reflection. Unlike so many we see, this coin is NOT dipped out and retoned. The mirrors have a semi “liquid” roll when you twirl the coin. A mind boggling ring of blue/green/gold/violet frames the peripheries on both sides. Mother Nature could not have created a better masterpiece. Miss Liberty and the details are fully struck and are thickly frosted. The eye appeal is gorgeous! ONLY 792 were minted. PCGS 19, NGC 21, CAC 19 (seems a few coins have been in often). You can’t buy a wild looking coin like this cheap. We still are below Collectors Universe value, so life is great! We also can’t stress how this look is a one in several thousand and you won’t see many similar coins ever offered. The image does not do the colors justice! Legend CAC

After the initial jump in demand for Proofs of the first-year-of-issue in 1892, collectors paid less attention to the 1893 Proof Half Dollars, resutling in a 36% drop in the mintage.  Nonetheless, at 792 coins, the 1893 has a mintage that can be considered average for the series.  Cameo Proofs make up at least a third of the total mintage, if not more.  Deep Cameos are quite scarce but can be obtained with much more ease than any of the later Proof Seated Liberty Half Dollars.
