1885 25C PR63 Certification #40522174, PCGS #5586

The Proof 1885 Quarter Dollar mimics the 1884 very closely in terms of the number of Proofs minted, the number of survivors, and the grade distribution. Cameo examples are very scarce and Deep Cameo examples are extremely rare. Most examples are very well-made, with full, sharp details on both sides. PR65 and better examples are fairly plentiful relative to other dates, and the finest examples (in all three designations: non-Cameo, Cameo, and Deep Cameo) grade out at PR67. At the top end, collectors will find some beautifully toned examples (see the images above).
