1884 $1 MS65 PCGS #7150
Owner's Comments
CACG Certification 7492.65/869330618 | Silver Witter Brick | Strike: Strongly executed with excellent detail throughout, Liberty's hair curls and cap exhibit sharp separation, stars are fully defined and pointed, and the eagle's breast feathers, wing tips, and talons display crisp, above-average separation for the issue. A well-struck example that avoids the occasional softness seen on 1884-Ps | Surface: Superbly clean and premium for the grade; fields are smooth and distraction-free with only the faintest, scattered micro-ticks that require close inspection to detect; no bag marks, hairlines, or spots disrupt the eye appeal | Luster: Blazing satiny-frosty cartwheel brilliance radiates across both sides, the classic mint frost skin of high-end 1884-P Morgans gives it a fresh-from-the-bag glow, with strong, rolling luster that dances under light for outstanding visual pop | Toning: Subtle yet attractive light golden-silver patina blankets the surfaces evenly, with soft warm honey and faint champagne accents hugging the peripheries on both obverse and reverse. This natural, restrained album toning adds warmth and originality without masking the brilliant underlying luster—elegant enhancement rather than heavy color.

The 1884 Morgan Dollar has one of the higher mintages in the series. Enough examples were also saved, that coins up to about MS66 condition are considered somewhat common. In MS67 and higher they are much scarcer to rare.
