1879 $1 PR64 Certification #39817808, PCGS #7314
Owner's Comments
This is a VERY HIGH END and near miss Cameo piece!
Deep mirrors beam boldly from all over. The mirrors have exceptional clarity and are super clean. When you twirl the coin, you do see a deeper “watery” roll of the mirrors. There is some faint reddish gold toning by the outer rims. This is NOT a dipped out or messed with coin. There is some contrast. Miss Liberty and the details are frosted and are fully struck. The eye appeal is great!
PCGS 100, NGC 70, CAC 18. The coin here has lots of life and really is VERY HIGH END. Do NOT be fooled by the pops! Legend

This is the second year in which the Mint struck Proof Morgan Dollars. The 1879 Proof Morgan Dollar has one of the higher mintages for the Proof Morgan Dollar series. Most examples appear to be in PR64 condition or lower. PR65 and PR66 examples are much scarcer. There are very few PR67 examples available and in PR68 condition, they are very rare.
