Legitimate proofs are extremely rare, comparable to those of 1874 and 1877 and certainly far more rare than the proofs of 1875 or 1876. True proofs are quickly distinguishable from proof-like business strikes by the now very prominent dot (rust spot) at the lower right side of the hair curl just below Liberty's ear.PCGS #
