Among the Proof Quarters of the 1870's, the 1876 is the third most common.  Only the 1874 With Arrows and 1879 Quarters have larger populations in Proof.  This ready supply makes the 1876 Quarter a great choice for type collectors because of the availability of most grades up to, and including PR67.  In general, Proofs of this year are well-made and often come with exceptional eye appeal.

Cameo examples represent slightly more than a fifth of the total population and Deep Cameos are only a tiny fraction.  The best example (and the holder of the price record for this date) is the NGC PR68* from the Eric P. Newman Collection.
