The 1871-S Seated Half Dime appears to be an underappreciated coin, as only a few hundred examples have been certified by PCGS in all grades combined. In MS65 they are very scarce. In MS66 they are much scarcer and possibly no more than a dozen or so exist in this condition or higher.
