The 1869 is not as rare as the 1859, 1862 or 1868 but it is still a very scarce date, particularly in mint state. Most 1869 Double Eagles grade from VF to AU with EF being typical. In average uncirculated condition, the 1869 is quite rare and although I have seen a couple of choice and gem quality business strikes, the date must be considered very rare at those levels. In terms of overall rarity, I would put the 1869 on the same general level as such dates as the 1855-1858 P-Mint issues as well as the 1863, 1864 and 1870. (It is not as rare as the latter three in Unc., however.)PCGS #
