The 1867 Half Dime is a nice, low-mintage issue that blends in with most of the other Half Dime Proofs of its era.  It is no more common or rare than any of the other Proofs of this type with the exception of the rarer 1860 and 1861.  However, the very low mintage of business strike 1867 Half Dimes places considerable demand on the Proofs from collectors who are attempting to complete a date set.  Even so, this date is relatively affordable and within the reach of most collectors.  Many examples offer strong campe contrast, but Deep Cameos are exceedingly rare.  Most of the Proofs certified by PCGS (as of June 2011) fall into the Proof-63 and Proof-64 categories.  The finest examples certified by PCGS include five Proof-67s and 1 Proof-67 Cameo.
