The 1865 Proof Indian Cent has one of the lower mintages in the series. Most other dates in the series have mintages in the 2,000 - 5,000 range more or less. Therefore, the 1865 Proof Indian Cent is a scarcer date overall. Most examples that exist appear to be in the PR64 grade range and with Red Brown surfaces. Examples grading 66 or higher are much scarcer. And examples displaying full red surfaces are scarce in any grade. With cameo or deep cameo surfaces they are extremely rare.
