The 1862 Proof Indian Cent is a very scarce issue. It has a small reported mintage of 550 coins struck but fewer survive. Most 1862 Proof Indian Cents were struck really well and preserved in high grade. Most examples seem to be in PR63-PR65 condition. In PR66 condition there are probably about 3 dozen examples known with less than a handful remaining in PR67 condition and none being finer.
