1861 3CS PR66+ Certification #38812607, PCGS #3710
Expert Comments
Ron Guth
The 1861 Three Cent Silver is a common coin in Proof, thus the real challenge is finding one in nice condition with strong cameo contrast. Deep Cameo examples are extremely rare and fewer than 15 precent of the examples certified thus far are considered Cameos. Among the known non-Cameo examples, the typical grade is only PR64. Gems are scarce and anything above PR65 is a condition-rarity.
