1858 25C AU53 Certification #28782325, PCGS #5445
Expert Comments
Ron Guth
The 1858 Quarter Dollar is one of the most common dates in the Seated Liberty type, making it a great choice as a relatively inexpensive representative of the design. Collectors should have no problem finding an example of this date in grades all the way up to MS64. Beyond that, this date becomes somewhat scarce and the terminal grade appears to be MS66. Most 1858 Quarter Dollars feature a good strike and rich, frosty luster.
