Similar in mintage and overall rarity to the 1856-S. Scarce as a date and extremely rare in uncirculated. The finest that I have seen was the Gilhousen coin and, except for that piece, I have seen only two other Uncs. and perhaps just five or six others that were even AU. Very underrated and actually much more difficult to obtain in high grade than the higher priced 1857-D.
