Owner's Comments

Great looking coin with redish color in the areas of luster

Expert Comments

David Akers (1975/88)

The 1857 is a very scarce coin in all any condition and it is less often seen than some of the more popular mint marked coins of the 1840's and 1850's. Although strictly uncirculated coins are occasionally available they are rare and gem quality coins are extremely rare.
