1844-O 50C XF45 Certification #16683695, PCGS #6246

The 1844-O Half Dollar has a slightly larger mintage than the 1844, but it is somewhat scarcer overall, especially in Mint State. This date is surprisingly well-struck for a New Orleans Half Dollar and most examples show strong, if not full, details in the stars and feathers. The typical Mint State example is MS63, with a few MS62 and a few MS64 examples on either side. The best example is the Gem PCGS MS65 illustrated above.
